In an effort to further my furniture making beyond just woodworking, I am learning the art of upholstery. I feel this is an essential compliment to my woodworking and allows me to be more rounded in the art and craft I enjoy.

The pictures above are a vintage chair I found in one of the many shops here in Portland. I disassembled, stripped and refinished the arms and legs, then completely re-upholstered the seat and back. The pictures below will give you some idea what it looked like when I got the chair.
While I aim to make future upholstery projects my own design and creation, this project gave me a good starting point and a fun piece of furniture I could improve.
